I am called by the great She-Bear when the year begins to turn inwards
Entering the Cave of the Grandmothers as naked as I arrived into this world. There is much work in the dark months: listening, telling stories, learning, and dreaming.
I am kin with the olive-green fingers of moss, and the sea-green lichen
I am daughter of the Old Woman of the Land. She who brings the land into winter. She who strikes down life - for without death there can be no rebirth
I am sister to her fairy cattle, fleet-legged deer who graze among the headstones
I am She Who Wears Antlers, shapeshifting to run with the herd, hooves racing on land formed by the bones of the Old Antlered One
I walk with an ear to the ground, and a foot in the other world wearing my fought for threadbare selkie skin
Gathering with sisters, living outside of patriarchy we paint our shields with symbols of magic and protection. Speaking out for those whose voices have been silenced
Shredded by eagle talon, ripping away the illusions modernity weaves, we remember who we are, a wild and feral, of Earth
