Bean Chaointe, the crying or keening woman. Often a woman who was outside of society, a poor woman who traveled to take up the role of keener, guiding a community through their grief. Within that role, she also guided the soul home.
She was often paid in food and drink.
She tapped into her own sorrow before guiding the soul onto the Otherworld.
